The Evergreen State College- Library Reroof and infrastructure Improvements

KMB's new roof design for the Library Building at The Evergreen State College features environmentally sensitive rooftop gardens and adjacent patio areas. Other roof areas are finished with exposed membrane or poured concrete walkways. The unique use of a common single ply membrane under varied roof systems gives the college optimal flexibility to expand the garden and patio areas in the future.

The 122,900 square foot building houses classrooms, administrative offices, student services and a major conference room, in addition to library resources. The new roof systems completely replaced an existing ballasted asphalt roof.

KMB also implemented upgrades to the Library's front entry. The original plastic skylights over the front entry were replaced by glass pyramid skylights with an integrated programmable LED light display, and a high efficiency, low maintenance induction system replaced the abandoned front entry lighting system.
